The Crucible

A modern adaptation of a classic American drama based on the 1692-93 Salem witch trials, The Crucible was written as a reflection on Arthur Miller’s own harrowing experience with McCarthyism in the 1950’s. The Communist “witch hunt” of that era parallels the fear, ignorance, and paranoia that prevailed in the witch trials of the 17th Century. The play shows that it is heroism in the face of injustice that brings hope and redemption.

The Thursday, October 5 performance is SOLD OUT.

 

Parkland Theatre is proud to announce that for our 2017-2018 season we will be holding talk- backs for each of our shows. These talk-backs will provide our audience an opportunity to dive further into our productions and chat face to face with Directors, Designers, and Cast members. Each talk-back will follow immediately after the show. Crucible will host its talk-back on Thursday Sept. 28th!

If you find ahead of time that you are unable to honor your reservation, please send us an email at Theatre@parkland.edu or leave a message at 217/351-2528. With enough notice, we can sell your tickets to other patrons. Otherwise, if you're a "no-show" Parkland Theatre loses the chance for that ticket income.

 

Seating is limited in Parkland Theatre's Second Stage and performances can sell out quickly.
